Role Description
The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Advisor will play a key role in supporting the HSEQ function and wider business by ensuring that ROVOP’s operations (particularly offshore) are carried out safely, reliably, and in alignment with company quality and performance standards. This role will help drive operational excellence by conducting thorough audits, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting consistent, efficient, and environmentally responsible operational practices across all projects and locations.
Responsibilities
- Technical Compliance Auditing
- Conduct audits of ROV systems and associated documentation, including maintenance, inventory and, where applicable, cold-stacking compliance.
- Conduct crew and client rep interviews, confirm ROV system performance relative to client requirements.
- Verify compliance with ROVOP’s technical processes, OEM requirements, and relevant industry guidelines such as IMCA R-series, and ISO.
- Conduct R006 Audits.
- Assist with other audit duties - E.g. supplier audits, Inspection prior to pre and post mobilisation of equipment.
- Operational Oversight
- Observe live ROV operations to assess procedural adherence.
- Verify job planning, risk assessments, and communication protocols.
- Review implementation of safe systems of work, including toolbox talks, Safety Meetings, PTW etc.
- Review emergency response arrangements and ROV-specific emergency drills.
- Safety & HSEQ Assessment
- Assess alignment with safety management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct behavioural safety observations with focus on human factors.
- Promote positive safety culture and hazard awareness.
- Reporting & Follow-Up
- Produce clear audit reports with findings, non-conformances, and recommendations.
- Track close-out of corrective actions.
- Participate in post-audit reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with ROV supervisors, client representatives, and project teams.
- Support investigations into technical failures or safety incidents.
Qualifications & Experience
Already operating at Senior QA Advisor level, the successful candidate will have a strong engineering background and a solid understanding of offshore energy operations, together with proven experience in a client‑side assurance role and/or working with regulatory bodies. This experience will demonstrate sound judgement and a robust approach to quality assurance. Recognised HSE training is required, alongside certified knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with Internal and/or Lead Auditor certification. Knowledge of IMCA R‑series guidance and offshore safety management systems is highly desirable.
Desirable Attributes
Previous offshore ROV experience in roles such as Pilot Technician, Supervisor, Superintendent, or similar is advantageous. A strong understanding of ROV system architecture, maintenance philosophies, and operational interfaces would be beneficial, enabling effective assurance and engagement across offshore projects.
