This role is approved for Sponsorship and provides relocation assistance to Barcelona. This role is permanent/full-time and hybrid (Mondays & Thursdays in our office in Poblenou in Barcelona).
Are you a seasoned engineer who loves tackling complex challenges, driving projects from idea to launch, and building customer-facing products that make a real difference? We are looking for a Product Engineer to join our team in Barcelona.
In this role, you won't just write code. You'll own the product experience, using your technical expertise and deep empathy for users to improve the lives of people and their pets. You'll thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your unique perspective and passion for our mission will directly shape the future of our platform.
What you’ll be doing
- Product Ownership: Translate loose product requirements into clear technical plans. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Scientists to define scope and drive complex projects forward to deliver best-in-class service to our community.
- Full-Stack Development: Design, build, and deploy high-quality, scalable solutions across our stack. This includes working on both frontend (web and mobile applications) and backend services.
- Engineering Excellence: Champion software engineering best practices, including automated testing, robust schema design, and commitment to code quality. You will use your analytical thinking to solve new problems and embrace continuous deployment and progressive engineering practices.
- Mentorship & Culture: Eagerly share your knowledge, provide mentorship to your peers, and help foster a culture of continuous learning and technical growth.
- User Focus: Maintain a meticulous focus on design and user experience, ensuring that the products you build are intuitive, reliable, and contribute to a safe environment for our community.
Your Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional Experience: 5+ years as a professional software developer, with demonstrable experience building both web and/or mobile applications.
- Technical Depth: Solid knowledge and understanding of relational databases and schema design.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Methodology: Familiarity with various agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/XP).
Your Bonus Skills:
- Full-Stack Foundation: Strong and proven knowledge of ReactJS or React Native for frontend development. You also have experience with Python or another backend language.
- Project Leadership: Experience leading complex projects on collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment tools.
