A Wishaw based, fully licensed asbestos removal company are looking to recruit a Trainee Asbestos Removal Operative during this busy time. The successful candidate will be offered a full‑time permanent contract working Monday – Thursday: 8am – 4:30pm and Friday – 8am – 3:30pm. Overtime is available if and when required. Weekend work will also be required but only if and when required. Starting rate is £13.50 per hour. Earnings potential once trained is very good.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be required to carry out the specialist removal of asbestos‑containing materials under current Health and Safety Executive and SEPA Regulations.
- The nature of the work requires operatives to travel and work at various sites and locations as determined by the needs of the business.
- All operatives must wear the required PPE and RPE (half and full‑face masks).
- Full asbestos training, respiratory certification and an asbestos medical are carried out for all operatives.
- Strong attendance record is expected.
- Maintains consistent performance and shows a clear commitment to work.
- Strong willingness to learn a new trade and actively pursue relevant training opportunities.
- Positive attitude towards learning and career progression within the asbestos industry.
- Able to work as part of a team with a safety‑first mindset.
- Able to successfully follow Asbestos Regulations.
- Physical fitness; the role can often be labour‑intensive and physically demanding.
- Ability to work in high‑risk environments.

- Previous experience in the construction/demolition industry, or a role with transferable skills to the position being advertised.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

- Any prior exposure to asbestos awareness training (even at an introductory/basic level).
