A Motherwell based company who are a Miller and UK Contract packer of Dried Pulses, Cereals, Pasta, Rice, Pulses and Rice and Corn Flours supplying UK foodservice, retail, and manufacturing markets are looking to add a Production Supervisor to their busy team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise Production Teams: Plan, assign, and monitor tasks for production staff, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules and customer order requirements.
  • Manage Production Processes: Ensure the safe production of by ensuring all products meet BRC, HACCP, customer and internal product standards. Oversee machinery and equipment operation, troubleshoot issues, by liaising with the site engineer and implement process improvements to maintain efficiency and quality. Address any production related issues relating to process, quality and food safety arising from internal and external customer complaints and audits. Aid the Technical and QA department and DHoPW in the investigation of root cause analysis concerning non-compliances raised.
  • Inventory and Resource Management: Assist the DHoWP, to monitor production requirements and plan production processes including staff level (i.e. by effectively planning holidays), raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring adequate supply by review of customer orders and updating the Business Central system accordingly and daily. Control of yield, waste and monitoring the use of raw materials, packaging and implementing effective stock rotation. Control and manage packaging materials and issue of labels.
  • Quality Control: Ensure products meet established standards, monitor production output, and enforce quality assurance and food safety protocols. Ensure all products are manufactured to current BRC, customer and legal food safety standards.
  • Maintaining Accurate Records: Keeping accurate production records of output and processes in accordance with current procedures, to ensure compliance with regulations, food safety standards including BRC and customer requirements.
  • Hygiene and Cleaning: Ensure the hygiene of production areas is maintained, ensure all hygiene / cleaning procedures / records are always adhered to. A clean as you go policy is a requirement of all staff.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing health.
