Established in 2011 and based in Motherwell, the company has built up a good reputation and excellent client base providing a variety of services to businesses throughout the central belt of Scotland. They deliver a wide range of services including Health & Safety Consultancy, Training, Statutory Inspection Services (LOLER, PUWER and LEV Inspection and Testing), Fire Detection & Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting, CCTV and Electrical installation, testing and repairs.

The company is looking to add an Apprentice Electrical Technician to their busy team. Hours of Work – Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 5.30pm, Friday 8.00am – 12.00am (Hours will be flexible to suit customer’s needs, overtime as and when required). Hourly rate is National Minimum Wage. Holidays 20 Days Plus 9 Public Holidays. Holiday Period January to December.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will begin a 4-year training programme as an Apprentice Electrical Technician and gain a working knowledge and hands-on experience of the following:
  • Electrical Engineering: Installation, Repairs, Maintenance, Inspection and Testing;
  • Portable Electrical Appliance Inspection and Testing;
  • Emergency Lighting Installation, Servicing, Inspection and Testing;
  • Fire Detection and Alarm Systems Installation, Servicing, Inspection and Testing;

As part of our team, you will require the following qualities: be trustworthy, have a good work ethos, a good attitude, be flexible to suit our customer’s needs, have a willingness to learn/understand and retain technical information, aim for and maintain good workmanship, quality, standards, and most importantly maintain good customer and team relationships.

You will also be expected to carry out administrative duties within the office including work scheduling, technical reports, general office duties and assisting other engineers involved with client-specific projects. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer use is therefore essential.

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum National 5, Standard Grade level 1 or 2, or Intermediate 2 Level (Units 1, 2 and 3) English, Mathematics and Physics.
  • Good computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
