A Motherwell based company which has been providing support to individuals in Lanarkshire with a variety of support needs and disabilities for well over 40 years is looking to add a Support Worker to their team. Pay Rates: £13.95 – £15.92 per hour. Qualification Bonus available. Varied shift patterns and hours of contracts – must be able to work weekends.
You’ll be supporting people to live independently, helping individuals achieve their goals and building meaningful relationships every day.
Main Objectives:
- To provide high quality support to people using our service in line with the organisation's philosophy and principles.
- To participate in the support planning process, ensuring that people receive the type and amount of assistance they need to live in safety and dignity.
- To work closely with other team members to ensure a co‑ordinated approach is adopted in relation to how services are delivered.
Responsibilities:

- Update focus person’s support plan.
- Ensure focus person outcomes are met and develop new outcomes.
- Support and coach new staff/team members.

- Ensure all paperwork is completed and up to date; order paperwork when required.
- Take responsibility for the duty rota – cover annual leave and sickness.
- Take responsibility for own training using the matrix system; attend training when nominated.
- Take responsibility for attending team meetings.
- Take responsibility for chairing and minute team meetings.
- Prepare and ensure availability for supervision sessions.
- Ensure all mail received is recorded and dealt with.
- Make and attend all health appointments.
- Administer / order medication; complete daily medication stock checks.
- Perform / assist with personal care.
- Adhere to all dietary needs.
- Liaise and work along with other agencies.
- Ensure focus person’s house is a safe and healthy environment.
- Ensure all smoke and door alarms are tested and checks completed.
- Record log book, ensuring this is accurate and legible.
- Read log book, communication book and diary at the start of shift.
- Follow all guidelines relating to focus person.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and uphold government legislation.
- Ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
- Maintain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.
- Be able to drive.
