Trainee Data Cable Engineer

An established communications and infrastructure company is seeking a motivated Trainee Data Cable Engineer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career within the structured cabling and telecommunications industry.

Full training will be provided, working alongside experienced engineers on a variety of installation projects across Scotland, Northern England, and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the installation of structured cabling systems.

Support engineers with cable pulling, containment installation, and termination works.

Learn to install and test network cabling systems.

Assist in maintaining high standards of workmanship and health & safety compliance.

Travel to customer sites as required.

Complete paperwork and site documentation accurately.

Qualifications

Aged 18 or over.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Good work ethic and willingness to learn.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home.

Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks.

CSCS Card (preferred but not essential).

Previous experience in construction, telecommunications, electrical work, or a similar practical environment.

Travel Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout:

  • Scotland
  • Northern England
  • Ireland

Occasional overnight stays will be required. Accommodation and daily allowance will be provided when working away from home.
