A Cumbernauld based company who specify and supply architectural ironmongery and door sets for major construction projects such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, office buildings etc. are looking to add a Warehouse Person to their team. They also supply and install access control systems, automatic door operators, hotel card entry systems and CCTV.
Hours are 8am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch break. No shift work is involved though some overtime may be necessary. Hourly rate is NMW.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:- Inspecting & booking goods received from suppliers onto computer system and allocating to correct bin location in warehouse.
- Keeping warehouse and stock locations clean & tidy.
- Creating despatch notes from computer system for sales orders scheduled for delivery.
- Making up and packing orders for uplift by carriers for delivery to construction sites.
- Carrying out periodic stock checks.
- Operating forklift β training will be provided.
- National 5 Certificate in English, Maths and 2 other subjects.
- Good physical health as role will involve lifting heavy items.
- Computer literacy.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good communicator (will need to contact both suppliers & customers).
- Punctuality.
- Capable of operating as part of a team.
For a suitable candidate they would offer placement on the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers education programme which will offer courses from an introduction to hardware through to scheduling architectural hardware for construction projects. This programme runs for 2-3 years and offers the individual a route into a role as estimator, buyer, specifier or technical sales. On successful completion of this program the candidate will be a GAI Diploma holder.
