A Motherwell company is seeking to appoint a Building Services Supervisor to their busy team. In this full-time role within the Operational Support Department, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the workplace environment, focusing on employee and visitor experience.
Your responsibilities will include negotiating facilities and service contracts, leading reception operations, and supporting health and safety compliance. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager and collaborate across departments to promote operational excellence and foster a positive, safe, and productive environment.
The standard working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Thursday and 09:00 to 16:00 on Friday. The hourly rate is £14.31, with additional pay for on-call duties, which are part of an on-call rota requiring a driving licence. The role involves a 35-hour workweek.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:- Implement and manage the Building Maintenance Schedule, focusing on cost-effective processes, including security, CCTV, car park and landscaping maintenance, ventilation, plumbing, heating, fire alarms, pest control, cleaning (including laboratory facilities), utilities, and office-related contracts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic building issues, such as repairing office equipment and replacing ceiling tiles.
- Support the review, negotiation, and agreement of contracts with service and maintenance providers, with assistance from the Facilities Manager.
- Assist in managing budgets related to office and facility services.
- Participate in the on-call rota to respond to fire or burglar alarm events.
- UK Driving Licence
- Experience in an Office/Facilities Management team within a busy office environment
- Previous experience managing people
- IOSH certification is preferred
- NEBOSH National Diploma in Health and Safety is desirable
- Ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with colleagues and projects to achieve company strategies
