A local employer is looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking General Labourer / Stores Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy workshop and stores environment.
This is a varied, hands‑on role and would suit someone who takes pride in keeping a workplace clean, safe and organised. Previous experience in a similar labouring, warehouse, stores or workshop environment would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to help are equally important.
Duties will include:
- Carrying out general labouring and housekeeping duties
- Cleaning the workshop and keeping work areas tidy
- Cleaning staff canteen, toilet and office areas
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Assisting with the organisation and upkeep of stores
- Moving and organising materials and equipment
- Operating a counterbalance forklift following in‑house training
- Supporting other members of the team with general tasks as required
- Helping to maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Be comfortable undertaking a mixture of cleaning, stores and general labouring duties
- Have a practical, hands‑on approach to work
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have good awareness of workplace health and safety
- Be willing to undertake in‑house counterbalance forklift training
