Overview

Are you an experienced healthcare assessor ready to take the next step? This Senior Healthcare Assessor role focuses on quality improvement, mentoring colleagues, and deputising for the Registered Manager when needed. You will be an expert practitioner and a role model in person-centred care, driving continuous improvement of quality, safety and compliance across the service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement of quality, safety and compliance across the service.
  • Mentor colleagues and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
  • Champion person-centred care and model best practice in care delivery.
  • Design and lead internal audits across care assessments, medication records and visit documentation.
  • Mentor Healthcare Assessors and support their clinical development.
  • Develop care plans and risk assessments for complex packages; conduct planned and unannounced spot checks in the field.
  • Oversee safeguarding responses and incident management; contribute to strategic service improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Manage on-call duties on a rotating basis.

Qualifications and requirements

  • At least 12 months’ experience as a Healthcare Assessor, or in a management or leadership role within a domiciliary or community care setting
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or line managing others in a care environment
  • Solid understanding of CQC regulations, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding frameworks
  • Proven experience leading audits, quality reviews and producing clear written reports
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and care management systems
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) — desirable
  • A full valid UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
  • Leading and line managing the Healthcare Assessor team, including supervisions and appraisals
  • Designing and leading internal audits across care assessments and related records
  • Experience in safeguarding, incident management and ongoing service improvement initiatives
