Ready to take the next step in your homecare career? We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Deputy Manager to join our Denton hub, supporting the delivery of homecare services across the Manchester and Tameside area. This branch operates on the Manchester local authority contract, so you will be working at the heart of a busy, fast-paced service with real scale.

Whether you are already a Deputy Manager looking for a new challenge, or you are a Senior Care Coordinator ready to step up, this is your opportunity to develop into a future leader with an organisation that will genuinely invest in your growth. You will work alongside the Registered Manager day to day, playing a key role in the operational running of the service. This isn’t a back-seat role — you will be hands-on, making decisions, solving problems, and helping to drive the service forward.

Why Routes is the perfect place to grow:

  • Centralised support teams — HR, Payroll, Quality, and Marketing teams handling the admin so you can focus on the service
  • In-house recruitment team — No more recruitment headaches. We recruit our own staff and have zero agency use, so you will always have the team you need
  • Routes Academy — Ongoing training and development, including support towards your NVQ Level 5 if you haven’t completed it yet
  • Senior Leadership Team access — Regular support, mentoring, and a culture where your voice matters
  • Digital Care Plans — Modern systems that make operations efficient from day one
  • Dedicated IT support — Friendly tech team on hand whenever you need them

Plus all the benefits you would expect:

  • Wellbeing and financial support through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 25 days holiday, additional bank holidays PLUS an extra day off for your birthday
  • Pension Scheme to secure your future
  • Competitive salary plus attractive performance-based bonus
  • A genuinely supportive workplace culture (seriously, we are good people!)
  • Buy and sell holiday scheme

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a senior homecare role — Deputy Manager, Senior Care Coordinator, Field Care Supervisor, or similar in a domiciliary care setting
  • A solid understanding of CQC regulations and standards
  • Experience managing or coordinating care packages and care worker teams
  • Strong organisational and time management skills — you will be juggling a lot
  • NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it — we can support completion)
  • A natural leader who can motivate, support, and hold a team to account
  • Someone who is not afraid to get stuck in and lead from the front
  • The ambition to develop into a Registered Manager in the future

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service across Manchester and Tameside
  • Stepping in to lead the service in the Registered Manager’s absence
  • Managing and supporting care staff — rotas, supervisions, competency checks, and performance
  • Ensuring care plans are person-centred, up to date, and being followed
  • Maintaining CQC compliance and supporting inspection readiness
  • Building relationships with service users, families, and commissioners
  • Handling queries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and care
  • Supporting the mobilisation and delivery of the Manchester local authority contract
  • Contributing to service growth, quality improvement, and team development

This is more than just a job — it’s your launchpad. For 15 years, Routes has been delivering high-quality homecare that puts people first. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, lead, and grow with us. If you have got the experience, the work ethic, and the ambition, let’s talk. Apply today and take control of your career journey.
