Routeco is a growing part of Sonepar, an independent family‑owned company with global market leadership in the distribution of electrical products, solutions and related services. We are looking for an Account Manager in the Bristol area to help us deliver commercial and technical solutions across the automation and control sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop sales within a territory (one or two counties), covering an existing customer base of about 70 accounts spending around £2 million.
- Strategise and prioritise the use of internal resources to ensure excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities by following up marketing leads and leveraging networking skills and local market knowledge.
- Visit customers four days a week, working closely with the local sales team and product specialists for technical support.
- Collaborate with the internal sales team to maximise order fulfilment and product service delivery.
Qualifications
- History of new business development and the ability to act independently.
- Strong organisational skills and tenacity to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build long‑lasting relationships across all levels.
- Confidence and resilience when tackling objections and new situations.
- Flexibility to meet the expectations of customers.
- Professional correspondence in line with the company’s ethical values.
- Integrity and a trustworthy advisory approach to customer relationships.
- GSCEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Preferential experience in control and automation solutions, though training will be provided.
