Routeco is part of Sonepar, an independent family‑owned company with global market leadership in B‑to‑B distribution of electrical products and solutions. We are looking for a talented Account Manager in the West Midlands to sell automation and control solutions to a variety of customers, from small to medium enterprises up to blue‑chip companies.

About the Role

As an Account Manager you will:

  • Manage and develop sales within a territory of one or two counties, with an existing base of around 70 accounts that together spend roughly £2 M.
  • Plan and execute customer visits 4 days a week while working from home, supported by our internal sales team in Leeds.
  • Identify new opportunities by following up marketing leads and employing your networking skills.
  • Collaborate with product specialists on technical visits when specialised expertise is required.
  • Build and maintain long‑lasting relationships with a diverse range of professionals.
  • Work flexibly to meet customer expectations and achieve ambitious sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Act independently, demonstrating resilience and tenacity.
  • Maintain excellent organisational and communication skills, presenting professionally and acting with integrity.
  • Use your knowledge of the market to identify customer needs and propose the best solutions.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure effective use of time and investment.
