As a Yard Marshall, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement of vehicles and goods within the yard. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient traffic flow, organising parking areas, and maintaining a safe, clean, and well managed environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Yard Marshall, you will:
- Manage and direct vehicle movements to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow within the yard.
- Organise and allocate parking spaces for vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Assist drivers with parking, manoeuvring, and general yard navigation.
- Carry out daily yard walk rounds to monitor operations and identify issues.
- Maintain yard cleanliness, including general upkeep and housekeeping duties.
- Empty bins and manage waste disposal processes, liaising with waste service providers as required.
- Support overall yard maintenance to ensure a tidy and operational workspace.
- Monitor and report any health and safety concerns, hazards, or incidents.
- Always ensure compliance with site health and safety standards.
- Use an electric cart and company van to efficiently travel around and manage various areas of the yard.
- A valid driving licence is essential due to the use of an electric cart and company van.
- Previous experience in a similar role would be desired however not essential as full training will be given.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competitive Hourly rate: £13.71ph, weekly overtime paid after 40hrs.
- Shift Hours: 5 days over 7, 11:00hrs - 20:00hrs.
