As a Yard Marshall, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement of vehicles and goods within the yard. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient traffic flow, organising parking areas, and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-managed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct vehicle movements to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow within the yard.
  • Organise and allocate parking spaces for vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Assist drivers with parking, manoeuvring, and general yard navigation.
  • Carry out daily yard walk rounds to monitor operations and identify issues.
  • Maintain yard cleanliness, including general upkeep and housekeeping duties.
  • Empty bins and manage waste disposal processes, liaising with waste service providers as required.
  • Support overall yard maintenance to ensure a tidy and operational workspace.
  • Monitor and report any health and safety concerns, hazards, or incidents.
  • Always ensure compliance with site health and safety standards.
  • Use an electric cart and company van to efficiently travel around and manage various areas of the yard.

Qualifications

  • A valid driving licence is essential due to the use of an electric cart and company van.
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be desired however not essential as full training will be given.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Working Hours

  • Competitive hourly rate: 13.71ph, weekly overtime paid after 40hrs.
  • Shift Hours: 5 days over 7, 11:00hrs – 20:00hrs.
  • Overtime: Available.
  • Monthly courses for a variety of areas.
