Do you have experience working in a catering environment? If "YES," we want to hear from you! We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Catering Chef to join our friendly team in Lesmahagow. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow their skills in a supportive environment.
About the Role:
- Food Preparation: You will start by supporting the team on the salad bar, preparing fresh ingredients and learning the ropes. As your confidence and skills grow, you will move on to assisting with the griddle and serving areas, helping to prepare hot meals and support service during busy periods.
- Daily Prep Tasks: You will help with prepping vegetables, making soups, and ensuring the salad bar is fully stocked and beautifully presented.
- Kitchen Operations: You will be part of a fast-paced kitchen that serves around 300 covers a day, so teamwork and communication are key. You will work closely with chefs and other team members to keep everything flowing smoothly.
- Cleaning & Hygiene: At the end of each shift, you will help clean down the kitchen, ensuring all surfaces, equipment, and utensils are spotless and ready for the next day. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety is a big part of the role.
- Team Support: You will be a key part of the kitchen team, always ready to lend a hand, learn new skills, and contribute to a positive working environment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years' experience working in a busy kitchen environment, with a good understanding of prep and service routines.
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate - this is a bonus, but not essential as training can be provided.
- A genuine love for great food and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
