Our client is a fully accredited supplier of pork and bacon goods and they are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Maintenance and Engineering Manager to become part of their ever expanding team.

Duties:

  • To manage and fully develop the Maintenance and Engineering function in accordance with business requirements.
  • Co-ordination and supervision of all Engineering and Maintenance personnel including improvement in response times to breakdowns and completion of all personnel/payroll paperwork within the Department.
  • To be hands-on in maintenance and engineering as and when required in order to fulfil business requirements.
  • Co-ordination of service and planned maintenance of all machinery on site to ensure the safe working of all employees allied to maximising efficiencies.
  • Organisation and supervision of all Engineering personnel to maintain agreed standard servicing levels and cover for breakdowns over agreed timescales.
  • Minimisation of downtime through machinery efficiencies.
  • Supervision and monitoring of capital projects.
  • Management, co-ordination and supervision of all external contractors in accordance with site policies and audit/legal requirements.
  • Monitoring and control budgets.
  • Supervision of site maintenance to comply with internal and customer audits.
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork and reports relating to the Engineering Department as required by Senior Management.
  • Servicing of all machinery to agreed levels according to maintenance schedules.
  • Fault finding and repair of machinery following breakdown on a cover/call out basis with minimum disruption to production.
  • Ensuring safe operation of all factory plant.
  • Prevention of “dangerous practices” and responsibility for reporting and resolving any health and safety issues.
  • Active participation and attendance at all Company Health & Safety Meetings.
  • Housekeeping of Engineering Plant Rooms.
  • Other projects and responsibilities where appropriate in the running of the site.

Location: Lodge farm industrial estate, NN5 (Easily commutable on public transport)

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

Working hours: 8am – 5pm (Must be flexible)

About you:

  • Engineering qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical, including 16th / 17th Edition.
  • CAPEX management experience.
  • Strong people management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of departmental budget control.
  • Strong IT skills – competent user of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of ‘Navision’ is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take initiative.
  • Results, goals and measurement metrics orientated.

  • Auto enrollment pension – Employer 3% - Employee – 2% (Goes up in April 2019).
