About the Role
Roundswell Community Primary Academy are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our school team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging school environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND
- Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions
- Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
- Assisting with supervision during break/lunchtime and accompanying pupils on trips when required.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can bring compassion and commitment to the role. Essential qualities include:
- Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age
- Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning
- Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to relate well to both children and adults
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum
- Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy
- NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent
