Working Pattern: These are permanent positions working a total of 27 hours per week, 14 hours per week grade D Cover Supervisor, 13 grade E HLTA, 39 weeks per year.
About the Role: Roundswell Community Primary Academy are seeking a dedicated and motivated Cover Supervisor/Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting teaching, learning and pupil development across the school.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes.
- Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources.
- Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence.
- Lead small‑group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies.
- Contribute to out‑of‑school learning activities as required.
What We’re Looking For: We are looking for someone who can bring compassion and commitment to the role.
Essential Qualities:
- Experience working with children across key stages.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole‑class activities.
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous HLTA experience.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training.
- First Aid qualification.
- Aware of health and safety practices.
