Its core is a year-round programme built around contemporary music, with cross-arts and digital work alongside. The post balances artistic ambition with commercial performance and youth participation, and champions artists at every career stage.
What the job involves
- Lead the artistic vision and creative programming identity of the Roundhouse
- Shape a year-round programme centred on contemporary music, with cross-arts and digital work
- Help the creative work reflect contemporary culture, reach new audiences and support the charitable purpose
- Contribute to the organisation's 10-Year Strategy
- Make youth voice, participation and co-creation an integral part of the programme, working with the Chief Executive and Youth Director
- Champion artists at every career stage, creating space for experimentation, ambitious work and new talent
- Balance artistic ambition with commercial performance, audience development and financial sustainability
- Serve as a member of the Executive Team
What’s required
Experience
- Substantial track record in programming, producing, curation or artistic direction
- Experience in a significant music-led, live performance or cultural organisation
- Experience supporting artists and building partnerships
- Experience leading teams
Skills & knowledge
- Understanding of contemporary music and live performance
- Judgement to develop ambitious programmes that can be delivered at scale
