Are you a Production or Manufacturing Engineer looking to work a Monday to Thursday role for one of the UK's biggest Contract Manufacturers, with full responsibility for improving Manufacturing Operations with progression into Production Manager as you make the role your own? This is a newly created position where you'll work closely with the Head of Engineering taking ownership of practical engineering problems across the shop floor. You'll improve manufacturing processes, develop jigs and fixtures, solve recurring production issues and gradually take on broader responsibility across engineering and production.

The company is an established UK subcontract manufacturer providing fabrication, machining, electromechanical assembly, testing and wider contract manufacturing services. You'll join a practical, high-mix manufacturing environment where you'll have the autonomy to implement improvements and directly influence day-to-day production.

The Role:

  • Design, modify and improve jigs, fixtures and manufacturing aids
  • Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements
  • Carry out root-cause analysis and solve recurring shop-floor problems
  • Produce and modify engineering drawings using CAD
  • Support practical manufacturing and continuous improvement projects
  • Provide engineering support and guidance to production teams
  • Assist with machinery maintenance, servicing and external engineering support

The Person:

  • Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or similar
  • Practical mechanical manufacturing or shop-floor engineering background
  • Good CAD skills with the ability to read and produce engineering drawings
  • Experience with jigs, fixtures, tooling or manufacturing process improvement
  • Strong practical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of engineering problems
