This Maintenance Technician position is based across a large and beautiful university estate, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within a structured and professional environment, with consistent workload and long-term job security.

The Role

  • General building fabric maintenance across campus buildings
  • Plumbing repairs to sanitary ware and associated pipework
  • Carpentry tasks including doors, ironmongery, shelving and fittings
  • Minor roofing, guttering and external fabric repairs

The Person

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or time-served equivalent
  • Strong building maintenance background
  • Able to work independently and manage workload
  • Professional, customer-focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence

Hours, Overtime & Call-Out

  • 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Paid overtime available
  • Call-out rota approx. 1 in 4-5 weekends
  • £2,700 annual call-out rota payment
  • Standby: £38.20 weekday / £70.20 weekend or bank holiday
  • Attendance: approx. £15 per hour (minimum 2 hours per call-out)
  • Call-outs are generally infrequent and short
