The Role
- Carry out a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance carpentry across campus buildings.
- Repair and install door hardware, access control, and fire-release mechanisms.
- Assemble and fit kitchen units and worktops.
- Support listed building works and help preserve heritage assets.
- Provide input on small projects, estimates, and improvements.
- Join the on-call rota (one weekend in 4-5) with a £2,750 allowance plus overtime for call-outs.
- Work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
The Person
- NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship in Carpentry (or equivalent).
- Skilled in maintenance carpentry across doors, fittings, and building fabric.
- Able to use woodworking machinery and handheld tools confidently.
- Organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
- Flexible to join the on-call rota when required.
