Field Service Engineer (Construction Plant) £40,000 - £46,000 (£20 - £22 per hour) + Overtime at 1.5x + Door to Door pay + 12.5% Pension + 31.5 Days Holiday + Manufacturer Training + Progression + Days based + Early finish on Friday + No Overnight stays Telford / West Midlands - Field Based (Local Patch) Are you a Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Technician or similar looking for a stable days-based Field Service role covering a local patch with an award-winning Engineering Group known for their great working environment, employee benefits and multiple progression pathways into Senior Technical, Specialist or Team leadership roles? This is an opportunity to join a long-established engineering group expanding its construction machinery service operation. You will receive full product training while working predominantly on small to medium construction machinery, including excavators, carrying out technical diagnostics, servicing and repairs across a regional Midlands patch. The role offers a 39-hour working week, no regular overnight stays, an early Friday finish and excellent long-term progression. Engineers are encouraged to develop technically, with routes into Senior Technician, Technical Specialist and Team Leader positions. The Role: Field-based servicing, diagnostics and repair of construction machinery Predominantly small to medium excavators and associated heavy plant Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault finding Breakdown diagnosis and technical troubleshooting Regional Midlands territory with no regular overnight stays Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm 39-hour basic week with additional hours paid at 1.5x Full manufacturer and product training The Person: Background in construction plant, heavy plant, agricultural machinery or heavy commercial vehicles / HGVs Strong practical hydraulics and electrical diagnostic experience Confident fault finding across heavy mobile machinery Recognised Level 3, NVQ, City
