Are you a General Builder or similar looking for a stable role on a university campus where you will receive 42 days holiday, a £4,500 on-call bonus and free access to gain trade qualifications to upskill yourself? This Maintenance Technician role suits a General Builder or Multi-Trade Operative with a background in brickwork, drainage, roofing, external works or similar looking for a permanent, in-house position with steady hours and consistent workload.
This Maintenance Technician position is based on a large university estate, carrying out a wide range of building repairs across live campus buildings, roads, pathways, drainage systems and building fabric.
The Role:
- Road, pathway and paving repairs
- Brickwork, blockwork and small concrete repairs
- Drainage repairs, unblocking and minor excavation work
- Roofing, guttering, lead flashing and chimney repairs
- Door repairs, ironmongery, shelving, signage and general carpentry
- Basic plumbing repairs to sanitary ware, toilets, sinks and pipework
- Installing wooden or concrete ramps and handrails
- General building fabric repairs across occupied campus buildings
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Logging work, risk assessments and updates via CAFM system
Hours, Overtime & Call-Out:
- 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- Paid overtime available
- Call-out rota approx. 1 weekend in every 4-5
- £2,700 annual call-out rota
