About the Role
At Round, a Product Engineer is more than just a developer. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and AI, where you’ll help define how companies experience automation in their financial operations. You’ll work closely with product management, design, and operations to understand customer needs and translate them into scalable, impactful solutions. You won’t just build features, you’ll understand the why behind them to ensure they deliver real value.

- Work hands-on with founders and key stakeholders to turn prototypes and ideas into live products.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to the product roadmap, delivering features that enhance customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain core components of Round’s products across backend and frontend systems in a service-oriented architecture.
- Help set up infrastructure, CI/CD, and monitoring tools for reliable delivery and testing.
- Translate product requirements into robust engineering solutions.
- Share knowledge internally and contribute to team growth and innovation.

- Backend: NodeJS, Typescript, Prisma, PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: GitHub, Vercel, Inngest, AWS
Who You Are
We are looking for curious, motivated problem solvers who are passionate about technology, automation, and impact. You have 3+ years of software engineering experience and a track record of delivering high-quality software. You have a strong foundation in backend and database development and are comfortable with service-based architectures. You are a builder at heart and leader by nature, able to earn trust and thrive in the ambiguity of startups. You are adaptable, versatile, and proactive in solving problems. You have a founder mentality, taking ownership from idea to execution. You are hungry to learn and enjoy working across different parts of the business. You value iteration and are a champion of Agile principles, focused on shipping and improving continuously. Bonus: you like speaking to customers and partners to see your work in action.

You’ll have autonomy, meaningful equity, and a voice in shaping the product, the culture, and the future of the company. We believe great ideas come from everywhere. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, including those who don’t tick every box. Research shows that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for roles unless they meet every single requirement.
