Role Description
This is an on-site, Sub-Contract Electrician role based in South Yorkshire. The Sub-Contract Electrician will carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on commercial, industrial, and residential projects in line with project specifications and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical drawings, installing wiring, fixtures, and equipment, testing and commissioning systems, and completing necessary documentation. The role also involves working closely with project managers and other trades, adhering to health and safety procedures, and responding to site issues or defects promptly. The Sub-Contract Electrician is expected to manage time effectively, maintain tools and equipment, and represent Round Rock Services Ltd professionally on client sites.
Qualifications/Experience
- Demonstrated experience as an electrician in commercial, industrial, or residential environments, with strong practical installation and maintenance skills.
- Solid understanding of electrical regulations, codes, and safety standards, with a commitment to safe working practices and risk assessment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications, and to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including fault finding and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with capacity to coordinate with project managers, other trades, and clients on-site.
- Relevant electrical qualifications, apprenticeship completion, or trade certifications; current licensing or registration as required by local regulations.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high standards of workmanship under time constraints.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach various sites both locally and nationwide, willingness to work flexible hours when project needs require.
- Gold card is essential with 18th edition and test and inspection desirable.
