Position Summary

This position is responsible for welding all products according to MOT and/or B/P specifications.

Position Accountabilities

  1. Verify raw materials.
  2. Visually inspect detail parts for damage prior to welding.
  3. Visually inspect all finished welds for compliance with MOT and/or B/P specifications.
  4. Verify proper weld rods according to color code.
  5. Identify and tag rejectable items before submission to Inspection.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of fusion welding experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Technical knowledge of welding skills and measuring equipment required for operations.
  • Ability to pass the standard welding qualification test with .030 material thickness.
  • Understanding of weld symbols.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Vision: Near 20/20, Far 20/30.
  • Color vision: Able to pass pseudochromatic plates (Dvorine, Ishihara, Richmond, Farnsworth lantern, Keystone Orthoscope, Titmus vision tester, Titmus II Vision Tester, Titmus 2 Vision Tester).
