Transport Refrigeration Engineer in Blackburn

RPS Recruitment has been retained by CoolKit Ltd, the UKs leading manufacturer of temperature-controlled vehicles, to recruit aRefrigeration Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to install, service, and maintain refrigeration systems in commercial vehicles.

The Role

As aRefrigeration Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of refrigeration installations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing, servicing, and troubleshooting vehicle refrigeration systems.
• Diagnosing faults and repairing key components, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
• Recharging refrigeration systems, ensuring correct pressure and cooling levels.
• Leading new installations and providing technical support to the wider team.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
• Following all safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a secure working environment.
• Assisting in stock control and ensuring parts and equipment are readily available.
• Training and mentoring junior engineers as part of their development.

The Person

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A safety-conscious approach with excellent communication skills.
• F-Gas qualification
• Experience working with refrigeration systems from brands such as GAH, Carrier, ThermoKing, or Hubbard (desirable).
• The ability to train others and support junior engineers in their development.
• A proactive and adaptable mindset with a results-driven approach.
