Do you have practical experience of project coordination, Gantt charts and bringing stakeholders together in a technical or regulated environment?
If so, we want to hear from you!
What’s on Offer?
- Competitive salary
- 5 days on-site in Consett
- Opportunity to shape practical processes in a brand-new support function within a highly technical aerospace business
Your Role as a Project Coordinator
- Maintain project plans, schedules (Microsoft Project / Gantt charts), milestones, dependencies and project records across the Engineering function.
- Track actions, decisions, risks and issues. Keep owners and due dates visible and follow up consistently.
- Organise and facilitate project reviews; prepare consistent status and monthly update reports for engineering leadership.
- Provide resource-planning visibility (workload, capacity and forecasting) for decision by the VP of Engineering and Lead Engineers.
- Facilitate clear communication and information flow across the two engineering teams and with Operations, Quality, Finance, Commercial and other stakeholders.
- Support project mobilisation, bid activities and change-control administration where required.
- Develop and maintain proportionate coordination processes, templates and records that the team will actually use.
- Escalate issues requiring prioritisation, resource decisions or technical input promptly to the appropriate leader.
What We’re Looking For
- Practical experience of classical project coordination: creating and maintaining Gantt charts / Microsoft Project schedules and resource forecasting.
- Confident personality able to bring stakeholders together, chase information and constructively challenge Lead Engineers when needed.
- Highly organised, methodical and attentive to detail.
- Adaptable and moldable able to learn the company’s current ways of working and help create processes that fit rather than imposing a rigid external playbook.
- Clear communicator who can present complex information concisely.
- Degree not essential, equivalent experience is acceptable.
Preferred but not essential: previous project coordination or project-support experience; exposure to engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or another regulated/technical environment; experience maintaining action logs, risk/issue registers and structured status reporting.
This is a dedicated support and facilitating role with technical ownership, people management, engineering approvals, project prioritisation and resource-allocation decisions remain with the VP of Engineering and Lead Engineers.
It is a strong opportunity to make the engineering leads’ lives easier while giving leadership reliable visibility in a unique aerospace business.
