Are you a skilled Environmental Test Engineer with experience in a highly-regulated environment? Do you excel at designing and executing tests that simulate real-world operating conditions? We have partnered with a global, rapidly growing aerospace organisation who are looking for an Environmental Test Engineer to join their Test & Qualification team, with a direct career path into a management position in the next 1-2 years!
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, set up and execute environmental and mechanical tests (vibration, thermal cycling, shock, etc.)
- Develop bespoke test setups and procure fixtures or equipment as needed
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers across design, NPI and qualification work
- Analyse data, write clear and accurate test reports, and support technical reviews
- Support failure investigations and implement continuous improvements
- Maintain laboratory procedures and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Oversee equipment calibration and perform preventative maintenance
- Mentor and train junior staff or technicians in lab procedures and equipment use
Key Experience/Skills Required:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering or technical discipline
- Hands-on experience in environmental testing, ideally in aerospace or a regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of environmental test standards and vibration testing principles
- Proficient in analysing test data and writing technical documentation
- Familiar with Microsoft Office tools and general data handling
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Able to work methodically and safely in a lab environment
- Confident communicator and team collaborator
