Rough Hay Surgery are looking to recruit a Receptionist/Administrator for our small yet very busy practice. The post holder will be expected to provide an efficient reception service to our patients whilst also providing clerical duties at the request of clinical and managerial staff. The post is for part time hours Mon-Fri and the successful applicant must be flexible and available to work full time hours when required to cover sickness and annual leave. The pay for this role is National minimum wage at the time of interview.

Main duties of the job:

  • The ability to multi-task is essential on any reception and the successful applicant will ideally have previous experience of working within General practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a good telephone manner.
  • Good level of I.T skills and knowledge (experience of EMIS preferred but not mandatory).
  • Ability to work as both part of a team and independently.
  • Be available to open/close surgery at appropriate times.

Job responsibilities:

The post will involve answering telephone calls, booking appointments, dealing with general queries from patients, generating prescriptions, receipt of deliveries, sorting of post and more.
