About the role
Our Commercial Claims Handler will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance claims efficiently and effectively. The role involves assessing, investigating, and settling claims while delivering outstanding customer service to clients and stakeholders. The Commercial Claims Handler will work closely with insurers, brokers, third-party service providers and policyholders to ensure claims are processed accurately and fairly in line with company policies and regulatory requirements. This is an ideal opportunity to build your knowledge across a wide range of commercial claims types, and share this knowledge and experience with our growing client base.
What you'll get up to:
- Manage a caseload of commercial claims from first notification to settlement.
- Assess policy coverage and determine the validity of claims.
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits and escalate complex cases as necessary.
- Ensure claims are handled in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Act as the main point of contact for policyholders, brokers, and third-party representatives.
- Provide clear, professional, and timely communication regarding claim progress and decisions.
About you:
- Experience in commercial claims handling (property, liability, or other commercial lines).
- Previous delegated authority experience.
- Knowledge of relevant insurance policies, regulatory requirements, and claims processes.
- CII qualification or progress towards (desirable).
