In this hands‑on role, you’ll work across the full development life cycle — from concept and design through to testing and manufacture — contributing to core products, enhancements, and new innovations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering solutions across the full development life cycle.
  • Contribute to core product development, enhancements, and new technologies.
  • Produce design concepts, implement solutions, and perform testing.
  • Create project plans and support delivery against agreed timescales.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into robust engineering outputs.
  • Provide cost estimates with cross‑functional input.
  • Present findings and solutions to technical leads, senior managers, and customers.
  • Develop functional and non‑functional test specifications.
  • Prepare technical records and reports to demonstrate compliance.
  • Design to internationally recognised standards.

About You

You’re proactive, practical, and driven, with the ability to work collaboratively and deliver high‑quality engineering solutions on time.

Qualifications and Technical Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Product design, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working in and designing products for the nuclear power industry.
  • Awareness of NCR Regulation 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B, and Part 21 reporting.
  • Awareness of CSA N299 series of standards.
  • Familiarity with IEEE Nuclear Standards (382, 323, 383 and 344) for design & engineering.
  • Previous design experience with castings, gears, electric motors, seals, CAD drawings and 3D models.
  • Proven experience of analysing, designing, testing and enhancing existing/new products used in an industrial environment.
  • Understanding of a variety of project management methodologies (e.g. agile).

  • Clear and effective communication skills, able to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player that shares knowledge and insights, but also able to demonstrate a strong level of initiative.
  • Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices.
