Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Warehouse Team Leader in Bath, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials to our fast-moving assembly line and Rotork assembly plants worldwide. Your responsibilities will include leading a team to deliver accurate supply of components while actively engaging in LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
In this role, you will:
- Take a proactive and disciplined approach to Rotork Environmental Health and Safety policy, encouraging identification and resolution of potential hazards. Reporting and closing out investigation into accidents and incidents.
- Disciplined approach to 5s principles, Warehouse, and inventory management policies.
- Lead the warehouse team, providing training, coaching, and conducting assessments.
- Lead the warehouse in accordance with the Rotork Lean and Daily Management rules / event-cycle of the site. (Rotork Management Operating Systems) Implementing warehouse policies to achieve the organisational goals.
- Drive Warehouse service levels for accuracy, quality, and process lead time to achieve productivity goals.
- Facilitate the Warehouse Tier 1 SQDCP process, implementing tools, visual management, and information flow into the Tier 2 SQDCP process.
- Manage the accuracy and efficiency of Warehouse processes, inclusive of; good receipt, put away, picking, material handling and dispatch.
- Plan resource and capacity (internal and external) requirements based on production requirements, supplier, and customer schedules. Balancing workload to demand.
- Manage all aspects of inventory control and flow, ensuring integrity in inventory value, levels, storage, physical and transactional movements.
- Maintain distinct flow and segregation of materials between production and the Warehouse for finished goods, identifying dedicated locations and movement control requirements.
- Plan daily resource requirements balancing workload to demand, managing agency requirements and associated costs and training.
- Lead and improve Warehouse performance and stock accuracy with the engagement of the team by applying Lean principles and taking ownership for the execution of the plans.
- Key user for all Warehouse management systems and associated software systems.
- Maintain all Warehouse equipment, FLT, Pallet trucks, Scales, Racks to ensure compliant.
- Lead the cycle count and stocktaking execution to improve inventory accuracy and control.
- Responsible for all Warehouse metrics, performance, and root cause countermeasures, inclusive of EHS, Customer OTD (First Promise), Gross and Net Inventory, Slow and Non-Moving Stock, RIO Rate, Net Value accuracy and Absolutely quantity accuracy.
- Responsible for all Warehouse costs, including labour, overheads, external storage and premium freight, monitoring and analysing spend according to the budget.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience and knowledge of warehousing, and inventory control methods and procedures.
- Previous experience of warehouse management systems.
- Ability to engage with lean principles such as 5s, visual management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).
Desirable:
- Automotive/Fast Moving Consumer Goods warehouse experience.
