Job Description We are seeking a skilled Manual Milling/Lathe Machinist to join our team in Chadderton. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for producing high-quality parts and components using manual milling machines and lathes. Operate manual milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders Set up machines, select appropriate tooling, and adjust machine parameters for each job Perform precise measurements using various tools to ensure parts meet quality standards Calculate and set cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths of cut for optimal machining Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery Collaborate with engineers and other machinists to improve processes and solve technical issues Maintain accurate records of completed work and machine operation logs Qualifications Essential Time served on manual millers Experience in a production environment Engineering background Ability to utilise manual measurement equipment Desirable Operatation of manual lathes (Capston, Hardinge or Colchester) Willingness to learn how to operate a lathe Additional Information Rotork is the market-leading global flow control and instrumentation company, helping our customers manage the flow or liquids, gases and powders across many industries worldwide.
