A growing UK banking technology function is hiring a Scrum Master to support established agile software delivery teams. You will work across multiple teams, helping Product Owners, Tech Leads and engineers improve flow, remove blockers and deliver value consistently. This is a hands‑on delivery role focused on agile maturity, team coaching, governance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Support Product Owners and Tech Leads with backlog management, roadmap planning and delivery commitments.
- Remove impediments and improve flow from idea through to live delivery.
- Coach teams on agile behaviours, delivery discipline, continuous improvement and effective use of metrics.
- Help teams improve velocity, predictability and delivery of value.
- Track risks, blockers and dependencies across multiple agile teams.
- Support feature kick‑offs, refinement sessions and initiation of new work.
- Help build self‑sufficient, mature, cross‑functional agile teams.
- Contribute to the Scrum Master Community of Practice and wider adoption of agile ways of working.
- Support agile reporting, governance and tooling improvements.
Skills and experience
- Scrum Master experience within software development / technology delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and agile delivery practices.
- Experience supporting multiple agile teams in parallel.
- Strong facilitation, coaching and servant‑leadership skills.
- Experience working with Product Owners, Tech Leads and engineering teams.
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and path to production.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Strong Confluence knowledge.
- Understanding of user stories, BDD, TDD, CI/CD, automated testing and pair programming.
- Ability to identify team maturity gaps and drive practical improvement.
- Experience using agile metrics such as burn‑down, flow and continuous‑flow reporting.
