We are seeking a technically strong Application Support Analyst to join a production support team responsible for business-critical financial systems. This is a hands-on L2/L3 role focused on data investigation, SQL troubleshooting, scripting and automation, and resolving complex production issues at root-cause level. This is not a monitoring or ticket-routing role. You will be expected to analyse problems, write scripts, fix data and processes, and improve system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 production support for core applications and data flows
- Investigate data and processing issues using advanced SQL (T-SQL / PL-SQL)
- Perform data fixes, validation, reconciliations and performance analysis
- Debug batch and real-time processes across Linux and Windows environments
- Develop and maintain automation and tooling using PowerShell, Bash and/or Python
- Investigate failed or delayed batch jobs and end-to-end processing chains
- Work with developers and infrastructure teams on root cause and permanent fixes
- Support releases, deployments and controlled changes into production
- Participate in incident, problem and DR processes, including RCA
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong, hands-on SQL experience (complex queries, joins, stored procedures, data investigation)
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar
- Experience supporting production financial systems in an L2/L3 capacity
- Comfortable working directly on servers (Linux/Windows) to diagnose issues
- Experience with batch processing and scheduled workloads (Control-M, Tidal, Autosys or similar is a plus)
- Experience troubleshooting data pipelines, interfaces and downstream impacts
- Proven ability to work independently and own issues through to resolution
- Experience in asset management, custody, banking or trading environments
- Exposure to data warehouses, regulatory reporting or valuation processing
- Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Geneos, Dynatrace, etc.)
- Understanding of MQ or message-based integrations
