Job Description: Purchasing Assistant (Buyer – Electrical Manufacturing) Role Overview: As a Purchasing Assistant, you'll support the purchasing team within manufacturing by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies. You'll work closely with suppliers, manage inventory, track orders, assist in negotiating prices and dealing with invoice queries. Key Responsibilities: * Source and order materials for production following sales demands and manufacturing forecasts. * Manage inventory levels, stock shortages, alternative components and obsolete parts. * Track deliveries and update order status. Liaising with warehouse to schedule deliveries. * Onboard new suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews of existing suppliers. * Assist in negotiating supplier contracts and pricing. * Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines. Skills Required: * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Basic understanding of manufacturing processes. * Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
