About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Clinical Unit Manager (RGN/RMN) to join a well-established care service in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse looking to take the next step into a leadership-focused clinical role, combining hands-on nursing care with team management, service delivery oversight, and quality assurance responsibilities. Working within a person-centred care environment, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the nursing and care team to ensure residents receive high-quality care delivered with dignity, compassion, kindness, and respect. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating care delivery, supporting clinical governance, maintaining regulatory standards, and promoting positive outcomes for residents through effective leadership and strong clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and maintain high clinical standards.
  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of resident care.
  • Deliver safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care within the unit.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care through detailed care planning and individual risk assessments.
  • Ensure residents receive care that promotes choice, dignity, independence, and respect.
  • Safely administer medication and oversee medication management processes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records using electronic care planning systems.
  • Monitor, manage, and review service delivery to ensure high standards of care provision.
  • Complete regular audits and contribute towards clinical governance, compliance, and continuous service improvement.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team including healthcare professionals, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of care staff through mentoring, training, supervisions, and performance appraisals.
  • Support staff development, induction processes, and ongoing competency management.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC registration and valid PIN
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing best practice
  • Experience coordinating care delivery and managing clinical standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary care team
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible, adaptable, and positive approach to change and service delivery
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a Clinical Lead, Unit Manager, Nurse Manager, or Senior Nurse position
  • Experience working within care homes, nursing homes, elderly care, dementia care, or residential nursing settings
  • Experience with electronic care planning systems and clinical audits
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, compliance, and clinical governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting staff development, supervision, and appraisal processes
