The Role: We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants for a purpose built residential and dementia care home in Lancaster supporting individuals aged 65 and over. The service provides high quality care for individuals living with:
- Dementia including mild and moderate stages
- Physical disabilities
- Visual and hearing impairments
- Parkinson's disease
- Stroke related conditions
- Bariatric and obesity related care needs
- Palliative and end of life care
- Respite and long term residential care
You will work as part of a dedicated care team focused on delivering safe, compassionate and person centred support that promotes dignity, independence and quality of life.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting residents with personal care and daily living tasks
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and moving and handling
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Supporting nutrition, hydration and mealtime assistance
- Observing and reporting changes in wellbeing
- Completing accurate care records and documentation
- Supporting dementia care needs and behavioural changes
- Working collaboratively with senior staff and families
Essential Requirements:
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential
- Compassionate, reliable and patient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to deliver person centred care with dignity and respect
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns
- Full right to work in the United Kingdom
