In the role of Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor for Maintenance and Construction, you will be invited to join a Health, Safety and Compliance team dedicated to recognising the importance of Health and Safety throughout our construction activities. Reporting into the Managing Director, the role will continue to develop the positive culture around Health and Safety that enhances behavioural awareness with the aim to minimise any accidents, incidents or near misses in our operations working with direct employees, and our supply chains. As part of the role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe place of work for yourself and all others, supporting and improving the investigation of accidents and incidents, and providing health and safety leadership and support for all business areas.
What Weβre Looking For
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma (or Equivalent) Qualification
- Membership of an appropriate professional body such as IOSH
- Additional specialist qualifications (First Aid at Work, Scaffold Inspection, NEBOSH Fire Certificate, P400, P402, P405 etc.)
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience within Health and Safety
- Extensive experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and its application.
- Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, CDM 2015 and all other relevant legislation relevant to Company Operations.
- Working knowledge and competency of Microsoft 365 including Teams
- Experience within the construction industry, particularly regeneration and refurbishment of domestic housing
- Use of Health and Safety Management System β My Compliance
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- CDM 2015 Regulations awareness and knowledge
- Ability to communicate and cooperate with differing levels of seniority β all employees and external stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with and influence others including delivery of effective presentations, workshops and training
- The ability to convey complex information in a simple way to non-technical people
