We are currently recruiting Mental Health Support Workers to support a large supported housing service in Blackburn. This is a 60-bed hostel environment providing accommodation and support to adults with mental health needs and associated vulnerabilities.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering frontline support within a hostel setting, promoting stability, safety and progression for residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing practical and emotional support to residents with mental health needs
  • Carrying out needs and risk assessments
  • Supporting residents to engage with support plans and recovery focused goals
  • Monitoring behaviour and managing incidents in line with policy
  • Encouraging compliance with licence or tenancy conditions
  • Supporting access to benefits, budgeting, health services, training and employment
  • Maintaining accurate case notes and handover information
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Working within safeguarding and organisational policies
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience supporting adults with mental health needs and challenging behaviour in a high-risk environment
  • Experience working in a hostel, supported housing or similar environment
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting
  • Strong communication and professional boundaries
