We are recruiting a Complex Needs Key Worker for a housing accommodation service in Lancaster. This is a permanent role supporting adults who are often at rock bottom and present with multiple and overlapping needs. Housing need is present in all cases, alongside substance misuse, criminal justice involvement and mental health needs.

This role requires resilience, initiative and strong organisational capability, with a clear focus on outcomes, engagement and tenancy sustainment.

You will hold a caseload of residents and act as their primary point of contact, delivering structured, consistent and person centred support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as key worker for residents with complex and multiple needs
  • Supporting tenancy sustainment and accommodation related outcomes
  • Completing comprehensive assessments, support plans and risk assessments
  • Managing high volume, accurate case notes and professional emails
  • Supporting residents with substance misuse, mental health and offending related needs
  • Liaising with external agencies including probation, health services and local authorities
  • Encouraging engagement, accountability and positive behaviour change
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and proportionate manner
  • Maintaining clear professional boundaries at all times
  • Working within safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

  • Proven experience in a support or key worker role
  • Experience working with adults with complex needs including housing, substance misuse, mental health and criminal justice backgrounds
  • Strong IT skills including case management systems, note taking and professional email communication
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload and competing priorities
  • A positive, proactive and solutions focused personality
  • High levels of resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Strong communication skills and professional judgement
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
