Our client based in Keighley is looking to recruit a CNC Operator / Setter on a full time, temporary to permanent basis.
Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components according to technical drawings and quality standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a focus on quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, or multi-axis) to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Load raw materials and tooling, and perform machine adjustments as needed for production runs
- Conduct first-off inspections and ensure consistent quality throughout the batch using precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and make minor program modifications as required.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas.
- Accurately complete production documentation and maintain records of materials, dimensions, and output.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production schedules and quality targets are met.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator/Setter
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming principles (experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Mazak controls is a plus).
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools.
- Familiarity with machining of various metals and materials.
- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with production tracking systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours of work: 8am till 4.45pm Monday to Thursday, 8am till 12.30pm Friday.
