Looking to be the first point of safety for someone escaping abuse?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a trusted domestic abuse support provider for a Safe Accommodation Worker to join their team in Preston. This is a vital front-line role providing support and emergency housing access for women, men, and children in crisis.

You'll be a calming, compassionate presence—someone who’s organised, reliable, and genuinely wants to help others rebuild their lives in safety.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Acting as the first point of contact at the safe accommodation site.

  • Providing access and support to residents arriving in crisis situations.

  • Maintaining the safety, cleanliness and order of the supported housing environment.

  • Handling admin tasks such as logging referrals, updating records, and coordinating support services.

  • Working collaboratively with support workers, agencies, and safeguarding teams to ensure residents feel safe, seen, and supported.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a customer service or admin-based role (ideally in housing, support, or care).

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Calm and confident in dynamic, sometimes high-pressure environments.

  • Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable individuals and families in refuge accommodation.

  • A real commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for people in crisis.

If you’ve got the right attitude and values, full training will be provided.

Perks & Benefits:

  • 24/7 GP access and health cash plan

  • Exclusive discounts on major retailers and restaurants

  • Mental health and wellbeing support

  • Cycle to Work scheme

  • Paid professional memberships

  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, sick leave & annual leave

  • Pension scheme and life assurance

  • Learning and development opportunities

  • Staff social events and recognition awards
