Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting an experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and well-supported primary school in Burnley. This is a full-time position starting in September 2025, running for the full academic year.

Position Details:

  • Job Title: Year 6 Teacher (with Intervention & In-Class Support)
  • Location: Burnley
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Contract Type: Full-time, 1 year Fixed-Term (Full Academic Year)
  • Daily Rate: £168 – £215 per day

About the Role:

In this role, you\’ll be supporting pupils in Year 6—either in-class alongside the class teacher or leading targeted intervention groups. The position includes shared classroom responsibilities, but no planning is required. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality support to help pupils achieve their best in this crucial academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with targeted intervention in English and/or Maths
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences
  • Assisting with behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • Providing support to pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Contributing to assessment and progress tracking where needed
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have recent experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 6
  • Be confident supporting SATs preparation and curriculum content
  • Possess strong behaviour management and classroom presence
  • Be flexible, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Be committed to supporting all learners and raising achievement
