Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Burnley area. The role is part-time, working Thursdays and Fridays, and is due to start in September 2026 on a fixed-term contract for the full academic year.

Position Details:

  • Location: Burnley, Lancashire
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract Type: Part-Time (Thursdays and Fridays)
  • Salary: £168.80 - £215.68 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role:

  • Teach a Year 2 class, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning to ensure pupils make strong academic and personal progress.
  • Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents to promote pupil achievement and wellbeing.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners and encourage active participation.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school policies and procedures.
  • Commit to the role for the full academic year to provide consistency and continuity for pupils.
