Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic SEND staff to join a well-established and supportive Secondary school in the Nelson area. The role is full time, 5 days per week, and due to start in September 2026 and is ongoing.

Position Details:

  • Location: Nelson, Lancashire
  • Start Date: September 2026 - Ongoing
  • Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week
  • Daily Rate: £90 - £100 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role:

  • Support learning activities under the general supervision and direction of the teacher.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
  • May be required to undertake intimate/personal care duties, moving and handling, and supporting children with medical conditions and complex needs.
  • Support the use of ICT in learning activities.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent).
  • Hold Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
  • Have experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age and working in a relevant classroom/service environment.
  • Have knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Have experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
